Dell Buys Alienware

Dell in a positive step has bought enthusiast PC assembler Alienware . Putting an end to several weeks of speculation, this move will enable Dell to make its presence felt in the ultra enthusiast market. The move also helps Alienware, as it helps cut down on the time it takes to assemble a new PC. Normally from the time an Alienware customer orders the PC, building and delivery can take as much as 3-5 weeks. With Dell, this assembly time will go down to 3-5 days.

Dell is the world's biggest personal computer maker, whereas Alienware is known as a provider of high-performance, "bleeding-edge"computer systems for gaming enthusiasts and other power users. With this purchase, Dell can finally move to shed its image of being a staid “Family PC” maker. With Dell maintaining a good presence here I hope they bring Alienware products to this rapidly growing gaming market.
